PIANO TEACHER
Ms Catherine
Catherine Tanujaya is a passionate piano teacher, an educator and entrepreneur. She graduated from Australian Institute of Music in Sydney 2009, however her teacher Natalia Sheludiakova urged her to transfer to study in the prestigious Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she completed her degree in Bachelor Music only in 3 years. During her study at Sydney Conservatorium, she learned from Daniel Herscovitch. In 2012 She returned to her country to establish The Piano Institute. She teaches many students and successfully brings them to the national and international stages. She believes that music education is for everyone and everyone deserve to get best experience in musical education. The Piano Institute has expanded each program from Little Maestro, Little Piano, and private lesson for piano and vocal, also TPI Exam, and started Encore Digital Piano brand. She set up International Grand Music festival (IGMF) in 2019, which is the music festival that includes masterclass, seminar and competition. IGMF is known internationally through Asian and European countries. Her passion is coaching younger generation piano teachers and help them to build the right foundation of piano teaching.
Ms. Karina
Ms. Karina began studying music since the age of 4 at Yamaha Music School. Along the way, she developed a great passion in music. She graduated from Chinese Culture University Music Conservatory Taiwan, with a Master of Arts degree in Musical Performance. She later pursued her career as a Piano Teacher and Arts Administrator in Taiwan. She enjoyed working with local and international musicians. Since January 2023, Ms. Karina joined The Piano Institute as Vice Principal and Centre Supervisor.
Mr. Hery
Mr. Hery has been playing classic piano for over 20 years including his time at the institute of the arts in Jogjakarta, Indonesia where he studied classical piano. He has learnt about the importance of stage presence when performing both locally and nationally with multiple bands. Now, he is focusing on making and producing music in Surabaya and sharing his passion for music through teaching at The Piano Institute.
Ms. Agnes
Ms. Agnes started studying piano at the age of 4. Agnes had lost interest in piano, until when she joined band in high school and rediscovered her musical interest. She took private lessons until reached grade 5 ABRSM. She taught private piano for 4 years until finally given the opportunity to teach at The Piano Institute. Her approach of teaching is to make fun & engaging way in teaching music to children. Such a blessing that she can teach and develop in a competent music school,and make children understand about music education.
Ms. Icha
Ms. Icha began to learn piano when she was 5 years old in a private course. She keeps on learning piano and taking exams, with her last ABRSM exam being in 8th grade. She is currently studying in local university while passionately teaching piano at The Piano Institute.
Ms. Fabiola
Ms Fabiola started her piano lesson when she was 7 years old in a private course. She took ABRSM exam and her last grade is 5th. Recently, she is preparing for ABRSM grade 8th and study at Yamaha Music School. She also has a passion to be a great teacher and love kids.
Ms. Nina
Ms. Nina has been living in Jakarta and starting to learn piano since 5 years old. One of her hobby since she was young is to play songs by ear on the piano. She has a huge interest in playing pop music. Her interest with music made her join a band and a church choir. After she finished her ABRSM grade 8, she started to teach young children since then. And with almost 9 years of experience as a piano teacher, she has been successfully teaching dozens of kids in Jakarta. She has just moved to Surabaya and ready to inspire the kids in Surabaya.
Ms. Lidia
She started to play the piano at the age of 5. She keeps on developing piano technique and taking exams, with her last ANZCA exam being in diploma A.Dip.A. Her experiences in music had become even richer by joining the choir and becoming the pianist for choir and Sunday services. She enjoys sharing her passion for music with others through teaching and giving piano lessons.
Mr. Patrick
Mr. Patrick began studying music since the age of 4. He took his first ABRSM exam at the early age of 7, and went on to pass ABRSM Grade 8 at the age of 12, making him one of the youngest ever to pass ABRSM Grade 8. He achieved DipLCM at the age of 14, and ALCM at the age of 16. He later continued his study at Germany in Music Academy Aachen. He is currently studying in a local University and is also the Head advisor of the University's Band.
Mr. Jojo
Mr. Jojo started studying piano at the age of 11. He began his career music at Yamaha Music School and private lessons. He finished his Grade 8 ABRSM Exam In 2019. He became a church, choir, & vocal group accompanist for 12 years at various group music in Indonesia. He joined many International choir festivals as an accompanist in Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand, such as The 11th Orientale Concentus Choral Festival Singapore, Bangkok Voyage of Songs Thailand, and Bali International Choral Festival Indonesia and other festivals with Gita Asisi Choir. From 2019 until now he was an accompanist for PCU Choir & Petra Chorale At Petra Christian University, Surabaya.
VOCAL TEACHER
Ms. Eveelyn
Music has been a great part of Ms. Eveelyn since she was little. Graduated from Petra Christian University majoring in Architecture but still, her never-fading love for music brought her here. She plays piano, guitar, drums and also holds both vocal and piano ABRSM certificates. She performed as solo vocalist at ABRSM High Scorers' concert and several classical concerts. She continues her passion in music because for her — music saves, music heals.
Mr. Albert
Mr.Albert has many experience in music,as vocal coach,choir conductor,arranger, and music teacher. He completed Vocal Class of Church Music Program from Petra Christian University. His passion is teaching vocal for kids and teenagers. He thinks everybody can sing. His motto is “be the best vocalist version of you.”
